All songs written by Kevin Levy except where noted are written by Kevin Levy and friends.
Kevin Levy
I was born in Los Angeles and grew up in a city called Northridge. I was always a creative soul and started writing my own “Choose Your Own Adventure” books and crazy-wild stories in my youth. I was a skateboarder and snowboarder throughout my teens and twenties along with skate buddies, Loudog, Randy Wells, Marcus Bradley, Pickle, Waxy and Kevin Meyers…they were my 6 amigos and we skated everywhere and all of the time. One day in early 1992, I pulled of a sweet skateboarding trick, I think it was either a 360 judo-air off a launch ramp or an Ollie kick-flip down some stairs and Loudog yelled out… “Sweet move Kevdiddy!!!” Ever since, my nickname has been Kevdiddy, or sometimes just Diddy
I also got into playing Ultimate Frisbee and have been doing that since 1998, it’s probably what’s keeping me feeling young and healthy.
I’ve played on a few traveling tournament teams. My favorite tournaments are usually ones that involve camping out over the weekend. Potlach and Logjam are two of my favorites. This pic is from a Portland Spring League tournament back in 2006.
I’ve been playing music and writing songs for approx. 20 years. I bought my first guitar when I was 20 because I and so many poems and journals that needed a melody behind them.
I remember working at Baskin Robbins as a cake decorator during my teens and I used to write new songs on the cake order slips. My very first song I ever wrote is called Fly, and it still is one of my favorites.
I need to make a professional recording of that song for all I have are old cassette-tape versions of it.
